Individuals interested in family history know well that it is a team effort. It is always a joy for a family historian to find a like-minded person whether a relative or not. The joy comes both in helping another person fine some missing bit of information as well as being the recipient of such information. UAFA is designed to bring family history types together, to be a unique source of compiled information and to provide for long-term preservation of family information. It is designed to be more personable and interactive than conventional family history sites.
In order for the Association to be effective as intended, many individuals must become members. Additionally, it is extremely important for members to supply images, documents, books, and family records. While there is no set amount of time any given member should devote to being a collaborator, just getting started will convince you to do more. We need volunteers with minimal skills or as experts. Some of the tasks involve:
Among the professional skills we could use:
One of the most critical functions is for an individual to serve as the initial sponsor to enroll their family. This means being listed as the sponsor and recruiting others to be co-sponsors, coming up with $200, negotiating an enrollment agreement with UAFA, and compiling a list of potential supporters of the enrolled family.
Given that UAFA is new we have the option of initiating a variety of projects only some of which are reflected in the present website. An important support role of members is to suggest and to help define and implement projects. All of these matters can be addressed by filling out the UAFA Enrollment & Participation Form and sending in a $50 membership fee, and/or by filling out the contact form found under the Contact Us tab on this website to start an exchange of ideas.

- Searching for facts
- Transcription
- Locating books
- Being a staff person
- Looking up names on Find A Grave
- Enhancing photos, etc.
